“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says, ‘I’ll try again tomorrow.’”

Trauma is too much change, too fast, without enough repair.
Anyone who talks to me for more than 29 seconds knows that one of my favorite things in life are plants. I started off with succulents, fell in love with cacti, stretched my green thumb to house plants and eventually graduated to becoming the proud owner of a Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree (AKA one of the hardest plants to keep alive, but she’s grown to almost 5 feet tall!)
On first appearance, cacti can look scary, feel prickly, and seem difficult to hold and manage. But - did you know that ALL cacti, no matter its size, have the ability to bloom a flower? Given the right amount of sunlight, water, and time, a beautiful and unique flower will bloom. This can take years. Some of my most cherished moments as a plant parent over the past 10 years have been the moments when I come home and see an unexpected flower atop my cactus.
Life can be “spiky” - and painful and hard to look at too, but with the right nurturing ingredients, we, too, can reach a place where we are in full bloom.
Why the name “In Full Bloom” ?
On a personal note…
Who am I outside of the therapy room? Being outside and in nature is super important to me. I spend my free time planting and gardening, doing high-intensity workouts, and hiking in national parks - the photo here is from Zion National Park on my 2019 trip. I’m an ex-football fan to the Cowboys & Texans and currently taking suggestions of better teams to follow. I also enjoy taking full advantage of my Spotify Premium subscription and all it offers (crime/mystery, health & wellness podcasts), strengthening my Spanish language proficiency, and hanging out at local plant nurseries in effort to build an indoor jungle in my home. Did I mention I kind of like plants?
